Hoje eu me envergonho disso, mas demorei bastante tempo para admitir que era feminista, como se admitir isso fosse doentio, descabido ou um erro grave de compreensão social. Eu justificava meu medo de ser mal interpretada com argumentos absurdos. Sobre direitos iguais, sobre condições sócio-culturais iguais, sobre como sempre foi assim e sempre será — e me isentava da parcela enorme de culpa por cultivar o machismo.
Também demorei muito tempo e precisei de muita leitura, puxões de orelha das manas e fóruns para entender, finalmente, que o feminismo não é o contrário do machismo. Que lutar pela igualdade entre os gêneros de nada tem a ver com ser sapatão, mal comida, mal amada, que existem questões ligadas ao sexo, outras a estética, outras aos direitos civis propriamente ditos, e que cada um desses aspectos trazia uma opressão, um conjunto completamente negativo e deturpado de valores que nos culpabilizava de absolutamente tudo. Do estupro à morte. Dos salários baixos ao uso de uma saia. Da agressão desmedida por sermos consideradas frágeis, das diferenças de tratamento quanto aos filhos homens. Da nossa postura, da nossa bebida, dos palavrões, do comprimento do nosso cabelo, da nossa depilação.

O ponto básico que me fez despertar para o feminismo foi admitir que existiam montes de mulheres que se declaram machistas, que lutam umas com as outras estando do mesmo lado. Que ainda existe rivalidade umas com as outras, que ainda existe uma comparação absurda entre amigas, inimigas, familiares, conhecidas, anônimas — que nos faz odiar nossos corpos, nossas escolhas, nossas vidas, em combo, numa salada de consequências angustiantes.
É algo muito maior que queimar sutiã na Avenida Paulista, que protestar com a teta de fora. Aliás, quanta simbologia eu vejo por trás de colocar os seios à mostra, que problema a sociedade tem com essa parte do corpo que sequer é uma genitália? Que não ofende, que alimenta bebês, que é como o joelho, o dedo, ou o antebraço?
Não é errado ter empatia pela causa das mulheres, porra, eu sou mulher, tenho amigas mulheres, minha mãe é mulher, não me aceitar feminista era fechar os olhos para todas as outras que gritavam alto, batiam os pés, pediam apoio. Não tinha cabimento fugir dessa guerra. Não dava pra ignorar as construções sociais que fizeram e fazem a gente se sentir culpada o tempo todo por vestir, por falar, por transar, ou ter medo de sair na rua sozinha, à noite. Ter medo de pegar um táxi. Tem coisa mais ridícula que viver em uma cidade sem a liberdade de ir e vir por medo dos homens?
Não dá pra aceitar receber salários reduzidos, não ser contratada pela capacidade biológica de ter filhos, ser chamada de louca quando reagir ao desrespeito. Eu fui obrigada a me aceitar feminista porque, como ser racional, fui obrigada a pesquisar sobre, a entender as consequências da minha omissão, a reagir na mesma medida que elas, “mulheres libertinas e exageradas”, a, de repente, fazer parte das mesmas loucas queimadoras de sutiã que não aceitam menos do que tudo que lhes é de direito. Como humanas.
Com a maturidade me veio também uma consciência gigantesca: caralho, eu sou muito feminista! Eu preciso ser feminista. Preciso que toda a mulher que vive nesse planeta também seja, que se junte a mim, que pare de se submeter a qualquer coisa que não queira, do casamento às torturas psicológicas e tantas outras coisas que ensinaram pra gente que era natural e inerente às mulheres, mas não é. Pode ser puta, pode ser solteira, pode não querer ter filhos, nem cuidar de marido, ou pode ser o contrário de tudo isso e continuar sendo feminista, gente. Não é possível que vocês não entendam.
Porque o feminismo é uma condição da mulher moderna inteligente, e não mais uma opção.
